Vessels' debut album, White Fields and Open Devices, takes many twists and turns during its hour-long ride. Instrumental opener ‘Altered Beast’ is a journey from math-rock to euphoria in ever intensifying stages. This is followed by first single from the album, ‘A Hundred Times in Every Direction’, a two drum kit epic that ends in an energetic shout-along. Also on offer is ‘Look at that Cloud!’, originally found on 2006’s Vessels EP, and Vessels' first two singles, piano-led ‘Yuki’ and the explosive ‘Two Words and a Gesture’.
